Welcome to Lizz Zieschang who joins us as doctoral researcher in the Submerged Landscape Research Centre. Liz is an experienced scientific diver who has worked on as a commercial archaeologist in the southeastern United States, conducting compliance surveys and excavations both on land and underwater. She earned her M.Sc. at the University of Bradford in 2022, focusing on utilizing AI to aid in identifying buried palaeochannels in seismic data. She has recently worked with the LOTE project in Croatia, and will be building on the LOTE activity in the USA.
Lizz’s research at Bradford will focus on development of a geological and geomorphological model for the Gulf of Mexico as part of a larger study funded by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and in collaboration with multiple institutions, including FSU, Texas A&M, UT-Chattanooga, and the Smithsonian.
